Christmas has come and gone, and work routines are creeping back in...
When you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark it can be very difficult to feel alive and energetic. However, if you give in to the feeling that you want to cosy up and relax every single evening then you begin to feel more and more lethargic and less like doing anything.
Obviously it is important to shut the door after a hard day at work, and simply switch off and relax once in a while, but try to ensure that you do not fall into this trap every evening.
You may be in the habit of having a refreshing bottle of fruit infused water in the morning to get you going for the day, so why not try one in the evening too to energize you and make you feel alive!! If you have not had enough to drink during the day, your muscles will feel fatigued. Having a cup of tea or coffee will make you feel cosy and warm, but will also leave you more dehydrated and feeling worse in the long run.
Here are a couple of recipes for something a little different in the evening…..
Orange and Coconut Water
The orange will give you a much needed boost of vitamin C, helping your immune system, and coconut water or milk is right on trend to hydrate and refresh you. This is a great recipe to prepare in the morning before work, and then drink during the evening.
1 orange – sliced to release the juices; coconut water (enough to fill the bottle) or add a cup of coconut milk too to give this a richer taste. You can add mint leaves also which will add to the refreshing flavor of this water.
Tropical Pineapple and Mango
A great sweet tasting water – great comfort after a busy day, or after a workout to replace some lost sugars the natural way.
Cut a quarter of mango up – you can use frozen mango if more convenient; some chunks of pineapple and then fill the bottle up with water. Again a stronger and more refreshing taste if prepared in the morning and left to infuse in the fridge during the day.
I am a busy mum of two teenage boys, and between them and work I am forever running around. I have always been interested in fitness, and I make sure that exercise features regularly in my life. However many of my friends are not into fitness like me, yet want to be healthy. I want to help people make healthy lifestyle choices which will impact on their fitness, without necessarily feeling the need to throw themselves full force into exercise.
