New Year …New You!
What a great time of year to start new habits – ticking off each day as you go, and not looking back to any bad habits you may have had in 2015.
So, why do so many people give up on their resolutions by February, if not sooner? Possibly, the changes are too drastic and too much too soon. How can you succeed then….?
Try setting more realistic, smaller and achievable goals - there is nothing worse than starting on a ‘diet’ and then giving in to that chocolate bar half way through January – then thinking ‘that’s it, it’s all gone wrong for another year’!
Check your smaller goals off on a monthly or three monthly basis. If monthly, January could be the month you are going to make sure you drink more water; in February you are going to make an effort to get a better sleep pattern, then with the approach of, hopefully, better weather in March you could set yourself a goal to get out more – a walk once a day. Build upon your successes, the months will tick by and by working on your goals month by month you will be a different person by the summer!
I am a busy mum of two teenage boys, and between them and work I am forever running around. I have always been interested in fitness, and I make sure that exercise features regularly in my life. However many of my friends are not into fitness like me, yet want to be healthy. I want to help people make healthy lifestyle choices which will impact on their fitness, without necessarily feeling the need to throw themselves full force into exercise.
